Eyebrow Transplant in Turkey: Cost, Recovery & Results
How an eyebrow transplant works, who it suits, how many grafts it takes and how recovery goes, with published sources and a free photo assessment.
An eyebrow transplant moves single hairs from the back of your scalp into your brows, where they root and keep growing as before. An eyebrow transplant in Turkey with our team is a one-day procedure under local anaesthetic: the hairs are taken with FUE and placed into fine slits or with a DHI pen. Our average price is $2,500.
Short answer
An eyebrow transplant uses your own hair, usually from the back of the scalp or the beard area, to rebuild thin, over-plucked or scarred brows. Each hair is taken with FUE and placed almost flat to the skin, in the direction brow hair grows. New hairs grow from around month 3 to 4, most of the result shows by about 8 to 10 months, and you trim them every few weeks from then on. Our average price is $2,500.

What Is an Eyebrow Transplant?
An eyebrow transplant is a small, detailed hair transplant built around the shape of a brow. Single hairs are taken from where they grow thickly and placed one by one where brow hair is missing.
Older methods moved strips of hair-bearing skin or flaps from the temple and often left brush-like brows. Small follicular units replaced them because they look far more natural.[1] The same single-hair work is used in a beard transplant.
FUE or DHI for Eyebrows?
Both methods take the hairs with FUE; they differ in how the hairs go back in. With FUE, the doctor first opens fine slits that run almost flat along the skin and sets a graft into each. With DHI, a pen-shaped implanter opens the skin and leaves the graft inside in one movement.
Brow surgeons use both, plus "stick and place", where each slit is made and filled at once.[2] Slits made in advance give fine control of angle; the pen is handy between brow hairs you still have.
We use both, and also a long-hair method: the hairs are taken long, the team opens channels in the brow with a fine needle and places each hair at its full length. See our FUE hair transplant and DHI hair transplant pages.
Eyebrow implants: most people who search for them mean a transplant of their own hair. Synthetic fibre implants are a different product: artificial hair has been linked to infections and scarring.[2]
Who Is an Eyebrow Transplant For?
An eyebrow transplant suits you if your brows are thin or missing for a reason that has stopped, and you have healthy hair at the back of your head to spare. Typical reasons include:
Brows that thinned after years of plucking or waxing and never grew back.[3]
Brows that were always sparse, or lack the outer third.[4]
A scar through the brow from an injury, a burn or surgery, once it has matured.
Loss from a condition that has been stable for some time, such as alopecia areata.
Unsure why your brows thinned? Our guide do eyebrows grow back? explains which kinds of loss recover on their own.
When to Wait or Choose Another Option
A transplant is the wrong first step while the cause of your brow loss is still active, because new hairs can be lost the same way. We advise waiting, or another option, in these cases:
Active alopecia areata or a scarring condition, until a biopsy or a specialist confirms it has settled.[2]
Untreated trichotillomania, as new hair would be pulled out too.[3]
Fresh scars, or more facial surgery to come, which can shift the level of a new brow.
Very little donor hair, where microblading may suit you better.[4]
Eyebrow Transplants for Women, Men and Afro-Textured Hair
The technique is the same for everyone; the design changes. A female brow is usually slimmer and more curved, with 2 to 3 rows, while a male brow sits flatter and starts closer to the nose.[2] Transplanted hairs are also thicker and harder to shape by threading.
Afro-textured hair curls under the skin too, so the team picks the finest, least curly hairs; one brow review rates curl control as even more important than angle.[4] See our Afro hair transplant page and our guide to hair transplants for women.
Benefits and Limitations of an Eyebrow Transplant
A transplant is the only brow treatment that grows real hair, which is both its strength and its chore.
What it does well:
Real hair that grows and moves, with no pigment to fade.
Brows that stay in place when you swim or sweat.
A donor area that heals with tiny dots rather than a line.[5]
An option for scarred brows, once the skin has matured.[6]
What to accept before you book:
Regular trimming, every 2 to 3 weeks at first, because the hairs still grow like scalp or beard hair.[2]
Some hairs pointing the wrong way, estimated at 10 to 15% of follicles in one review;[4] gel usually trains them.
A share of grafts, often around 5 to 10%, that do not grow.
A possible second session for density. In one surgeon's series of 63 brow cases, 14% were complete after one session, 77% needed two and 9% three.[2]
How an Eyebrow Transplant Is Done, Step by Step
The procedure takes a few hours on one day, with no overnight hospital stay. A US cost guide gives three to five hours.[7] This is how the day runs with our team:
Photo assessment. Before you travel, you send photos of your brows without make-up and of the back of your head, and the medical team tells you whether a transplant suits you.
Design. The new brow is drawn on your face, agreed with you and photographed before any anaesthetic; an old photo of your brows helps.[2]
Local anaesthetic. Brows and donor area are numbed and you stay awake, with as little fluid as possible to limit eyelid swelling.[4]
Extraction. Fine single hairs are taken one by one with a micromotor device and punches about 0.7 to 1.2 mm wide, and kept in chilled saline.
Placement. Each graft goes into a fine slit or a needle channel (long-hair method), or is placed with a DHI pen, about 1 to 1.5 mm from its neighbours.[2]
Aftercare. You leave with written instructions, and the team checks your brows before you fly home.
Where each hair points, and why brow grafts go in almost flat.
Why the Angle Matters
Eyebrow hairs lie almost flat against the skin, so every graft has to go in at a very low angle. One brow review describes the ideal exit as "almost as flat as possible",[4] and grafts placed even slightly too steep grow out like a canopy. Direction changes along the brow:
At the head, near the nose, hairs point upward.
In the body, upper rows point outward and down, lower rows outward and up, so they cross in the middle.[2]
In the tail, hairs run outward, almost horizontally.
Donor Area and How Many Grafts You Need
Your graft number is set at the assessment, from the brow shape you want and the hair you still have. There is no standard number, and a partial fill needs far fewer grafts than a whole brow. Published figures differ because brows differ:
About 70 to 90 grafts for a slim female brow of 2 to 3 rows, and 150 to 200 for a thick, full male brow.[2]
About 200 single hairs per side on average in another surgeon's practice, at no more than 30 to 35 grafts per square centimetre.[4]
We do not work towards a target number; the aim is a density that looks natural on your face.
Where the Hairs Come From
With us, the hairs usually come from the back of your scalp, which generally suits brows better than beard hair; the beard area is used when its hairs match better. What decides is not thickness but how closely the hairs resemble your own brow hairs.
Nape hair is not always ideal either: in some people its thick hairs match as poorly as beard hair, so the donor area should be examined under a microscope or trichoscope. In a series of 352 patients, none had an obvious donor scar.[8]
Three things that matter more than the donor area
Exit angle: brow hairs go in very flat to the skin.
Direction: it differs at the head, body and tail of the brow.
Graft choice: mostly single, fine hairs as thick as your brow hairs.
Can Body Hair Be Used for Eyebrows?
Beard hair, yes, when its hairs resemble your brow hairs more closely than scalp hair does. Chest or leg hair only rarely, when suitable scalp hair runs short; it regrows less reliably and tends to curl, and one brow review says it is not a choice for eyebrows.[2] Our body hair transplant page explains where it can help on the scalp.
Eyebrow Transplant vs Microblading
Microblading draws hair-like strokes into the skin with pigment; a transplant grows real hairs. Microblading is a shallow tattoo made with a hand tool of fine needles, and a dermatology review puts its life at 12 to 18 months.[9]

Eyebrow Transplant Recovery Day by Day
Recovery is quick on the surface and slow underneath: the brows settle within about two weeks, the hairs take months.

Trimming and Training the New Hairs
Expect to trim the new hairs every two to three weeks at first. Scalp and beard hairs differ from brow hair in structure and growth, so they always need trimming and care. Combing them along the brow with a little gel or wax helps them lie flat and grow the right way.[3]
When Can I Wash My Face and Wear Make-up?
You can wash from the third day, as long as nothing rubs the brows. Eye make-up is usually fine from the next day; keep it off the brows until the crusts have gone.[4]
To go back to work without visible crusts, plan for about ten days. Avoid strenuous activity for at least a week;[7] swimming and saunas wait until the team says the grafts are secure.
Eyebrow Transplant Results and Before-and-After Photos
A good result is a brow that looks like yours on a day you did not fill it in. In 352 patients followed for four years, 320 (91%) had transplanted hair that grew well, with a satisfying direction and look.[8] In burn scars, restored brows in one study reached about two-thirds of the density of the unaffected side.[6]
How to Read Eyebrow Before-and-After Photos
Check the date and conditions before you judge the brow:
The after photo is at least eight months after the procedure.
Neither photo shows pencil, powder or tint; published cases sometimes show the same brow with and without make-up.[4]
Transplanted brow hairs usually keep growing for many years, because they come from the back of the scalp, which keeps its hair in most people. What can end a result early is the original cause, such as alopecia areata flaring up again.[2] Repeated plucking can also destroy follicles for good,[3] so trim instead.
Eyebrow Transplant Risks and Side Effects
Serious complications are rare; the real issues are about how the hairs grow. Infection, inflamed follicles and cysts are described as extremely rare after brow transplants.[2] Worth planning for:
Hairs that grow in the wrong direction, curl or stand away from the skin.
A colour or texture that differs a little from the rest of the brow.[4]
Uneven brows if the anaesthetic shifts the brow, one reason the design is drawn first.
Cysts, which are more likely when grafts are packed too densely.
Two common myths
"More grafts make a better brow." Packing too tightly raises the risk of cysts.
"Once the hairs grow, they need no care." They need trimming and training.
Do People Regret Getting an Eyebrow Transplant?
The best protection against regret is getting the design right, because transplanted hairs are hard to remove later. Small changes in shape change your expression: a brow that slopes down at the tail looks older, and a high arch looks surprised.[2] That is why we agree the drawn brow with you before any anaesthetic.
Common Causes of Eyebrow Hair Loss
Brows thin for many reasons, and the cause decides whether a transplant is the right answer. The usual ones are:
Over-plucking, waxing or threading over many years.
Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and other medical treatments.[3]
Options to Try Before Surgery
If the follicles are still alive, medical treatment may bring brow hairs back without surgery. Thinning brows can respond to low-dose oral minoxidil, an off-label use,[2] and seven patients with frontal fibrosing alopecia regrew eyebrow hair on it in one report.[10] See our guide to minoxidil for eyebrows; meanwhile, pencil, tint or microblading can cover the gaps.[9]
Eyebrow Transplant Cost in Turkey
Our eyebrow transplant price is $2,500 on average, and the team confirms your figure after a free photo assessment. It changes with:
How sparse your brows are now, and the procedure you want.
One brow or both, and a whole brow or a partial fill.
The number of grafts your design needs.
Scar tissue, which may need a planned second session.[2]
Eyebrow Transplant Cost in the USA and UK
Published prices abroad are few. A US patient finance guide puts the national average for an eyebrow transplant at $3,919 to $10,640.[7] The NHS gives £1,000 to £30,000 for a UK hair transplant in general and does not offer one, as it is cosmetic surgery.[5]
The reviews worth reading show the brows at least eight months later, without make-up, on independent platforms. Eyebrow Transplant: Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an eyebrow transplant cost in Turkey?
Our price is $2,500 on average. Your figure depends on how sparse your brows are, the procedure you want, one or both brows and any scar tissue, and the team confirms it after a free photo assessment.
How many grafts do I need for an eyebrow transplant?
It is set at your assessment. Published figures run from about 70 to 90 grafts for a slim female brow to 150 to 200 for a thick male brow; a partial fill needs fewer.
Is an eyebrow transplant painful?
The anaesthetic injections sting for a moment; after that you feel pressure, not pain. The area can be sore and a little swollen for a few days.
Is an eyebrow transplant worth it?
Yes, if you want real hair instead of make-up and accept months of waiting, regular trimming and sometimes a second session. For shape and colour alone, microblading may suit you better.
Can I get an eyebrow transplant if I have alopecia areata?
Sometimes, once it has been stable for a while. Active alopecia areata can attack transplanted hairs too, so a dermatologist should first confirm it has settled.
Should I choose FUE or DHI for my eyebrows?
Both take the hairs with FUE and differ in placement: slits made in advance give fine control of angle, a DHI pen helps between existing brow hairs. The team chooses for your brows at the assessment.
Is eyebrow transplant halal or haram?
Turkey Hair Center does not give religious rulings; please ask a scholar you trust. Medically, the procedure moves your own hair to restore thinned or lost brows under local anaesthetic.
