Pierre Gasly Hair Transplant: What the Record Shows
Did Pierre Gasly have a hair transplant? One article claims it, he has not confirmed it. See the dated photos, what they can and cannot prove, and the facts.
Performed at authorized partner hospitals Turkey Hair Center is a Ministry of Health authorized health-tourism intermediary, not a clinic.
Pierre Gasly, the French Formula 1 driver born on 07.02.1996, has never said that he had a hair transplant. A single men's lifestyle article claims he did, but it names no surgeon, no date and no source. This guide sets out what the public record shows, what his photos can and cannot prove, and what the same situation would involve for an ordinary patient.
Quick answer: Gasly has not confirmed a hair transplant, and no public record names a procedure, a provider or a date. One article from DMARGE (published 02.02.2025) says a "noticeably refined hairline" left "little doubt" that he had one, but that is the writer's reading of photos, not a statement from Gasly. The honest answer is: possible, unconfirmed.

Did Pierre Gasly Get a Hair Transplant?
There is no confirmation. In the interviews and reports we reviewed, Gasly has not mentioned a transplant, medicine or any other hair treatment. The claim rests on one article.
That article, from the men's lifestyle site DMARGE, says Gasly took "a different approach" to preparing for the season: "a fresh hair transplant". It describes him as someone who "for years masked his receding hairline with a carefully crafted brush-forward hairstyle", and says that after the summer break he appeared with a shaved head and a refined hairline, "leaving little doubt that he'd undergone the procedure".
Read closely, the article is an inference from photos, and it has weak points:
No source: it quotes neither Gasly, his team nor any provider.
Soft timing: it says only that it is "likely he had it done either before the season ended or immediately after".
Date mismatch: it was published on 02.02.2025, yet it speaks of his "2024 preparation" and a summer break, so the timeline is unclear.
Guesswork about the destination: it says he "likely flew to Turkey", which is a general remark about the industry, not a fact about him.
A report is not a confirmation. We therefore treat the transplant as an unverified claim and keep it separate from what can be seen.
How Has Pierre Gasly's Hairline Changed Over the Years?
The dated photographs we could use show a full head of hair in each case, styled forward or into a fringe. Freely licensed photos of Gasly without a cap, a helmet or a sponsor logo are rare, so we can show only three. Each shows a different point in his career.
2013: Moscow Raceway
At 17, in the first photo of the comparison above, his hair is thick and brushed forward over the brow. There is no visible recession at the temples. This is a teenager, long before any claim about a procedure.
2018: A Crossroads Foundation Event
In January 2018 Gasly was a Toro Rosso driver. The photo below, taken at an event run by the Crossroads Foundation, shows the same forward-swept style with solid coverage across the front.
2019: Monza
A photograph from the Italian Grand Prix weekend in September 2019 shows a similar fringe. The hair is cut slightly shorter at the sides, and the front edge sits where it did in the earlier pictures. Nothing in this frame points to change, which matches the time before the claim: DMARGE places any procedure years later, so these photos are a baseline, not evidence for or against it.
2024 and 2025: Shaved Head Reported
The period DMARGE describes, a shaved head and a "refined" hairline, is the one for which we found no freely licensed photograph. We therefore do not show it and make no visual claim about it. Where we cannot show a photo, we say so rather than describe one.
Is Pierre Gasly Going Bald?
The photos available to us show no balding. DMARGE says he has a receding hairline, but the images we could publish do not show one. That gap is a reminder of how little a few photos can prove, which the next section explains.
Pattern hair loss in men is common and often starts at the temples or the crown. The American Academy of Dermatology notes that treatment options include medicine as well as surgery. Many men lose hair slowly, and a short or forward-swept style can hide the early stages for years. If you want to see how stages are graded, our Norwood scale guide explains each one with examples.
Can Before-and-After Photos Show a Transplant?
Photos can show change, but they cannot prove why it happened. Comparing a driver across eleven years is harder than it looks, because the conditions never match.
Angle: a head tilted down hides the front edge; a head tilted back exposes it.
Light: flash and strong sun flatten texture, so thin hair can look full and full hair can look thin.
Length and styling: a long fringe, a short crop and a shaved head each show a different part of the front.
Time: transplanted hair grows in slowly. The American Academy of Dermatology says most patients see results six to nine months after surgery, so one image cannot place a procedure in time.
A fair comparison also needs the same person at a similar age, in a similar pose. For documented results with comparable photos, see our hair transplant before and after page.
Why Are Good Photos of a Racing Driver So Hard to Find?
Formula 1 drivers spend much of their public life in a helmet, a balaclava or a team cap. Gasly is no exception. On the grid and the podium he is usually capped, and the fireproof headwear used under a helmet presses the hair flat.
This matters for the question in two ways. First, any claim about a hairline made from race-weekend photos is weak, because the hair is rarely visible and is often compressed or sweaty. Second, a driver can change his hair quietly over a winter break, since fans see only a cap until the next launch event. That is a reason for caution, not for assuming surgery.
If you wear a helmet, cap or hard hat for work, a cap also matters after surgery, because pressure on fresh grafts is best avoided. Our guide to hair transplant recovery explains when a cap is safe to wear again.
What Do Confirmed, Observable and Unverified Mean Here?
We sort every statement about a public figure into three groups, so you can see what is solid.
Confirmed: he was born on 07.02.1996 in Rouen, debuted in Formula 1 in 2017, won the 2020 Italian Grand Prix and has driven for Alpine since 2023 (Wikipedia).
Observable: in the three dated, freely licensed photos from 2013, 2018 and 2019, his hair is full and styled forward, with no visible recession.
Unverified: whether he had a hair transplant, when, with which technique, how many grafts and with whom. The only claim is one article without a source.
If Pierre Gasly Had a Hair Transplant, Which Technique Would Be Likely?
This section is hypothetical. It explains the methods in general and describes nothing Gasly has done.
A hair transplant moves follicles from the back and sides of the scalp, where hair resists pattern loss, to thinning areas, as the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery explains. The follicles can be harvested in two ways, and the methods used today are built on them.
FUT (strip method): a narrow strip of scalp is removed from the back of the head and divided into grafts. It leaves a fine linear scar.
FUE: grafts are taken one by one with a small punch, leaving tiny dot scars. FUE is the basis of most modern methods, including sapphire FUE, which opens the receiving channels with sapphire blades, and DHI, which places each graft with a pen-like implanter.
An athlete with a short, shaved style would suit FUE, because it leaves no linear scar to show under clippers. That is general logic, not knowledge of what he had. A well-planned result from either method can look the same from the front, so a photo of the hairline cannot reveal the method. Our FUE vs DHI comparison sets out the practical differences.
How Many Grafts Would a Similar Pattern Need?
There is no verified graft count for Gasly, and we do not estimate one. Without an examination, any number would be invented. What we can explain is how a patient with early recession at the temples and a preserved centre is planned.
Extent of loss: how far back the corners sit, graded on the Norwood scale. You can check yours with our Norwood test.
Target density: a natural front uses single-hair grafts at the edge, with more density just behind it.
Hair characteristics: thickness, curl and the contrast between hair and skin colour change how full a given number of grafts looks.
Donor strength: how many grafts the back and sides can give safely, now and for any later session.
Age and future loss: a man in his late twenties usually needs a hairline planned to age well, since loss may continue.
Each of these is measured at a consultation, not read from a photo. A young patient with a mature hairline in mind should also read about the mature hairline, because a lower, boyish line can look wrong in ten years.
What Would a Similar Hair Transplant Cost?
Gasly's real cost, if he had any procedure at all, is unknown, and we do not publish price estimates for public figures. For anyone else, price follows the same factors as the graft plan: the extent of loss, the number of grafts, the method and what is included, such as hospital fees, accommodation, transfers and aftercare.
At Turkey Hair Center, treatment is offered as one of four fixed-price packages, each with its contents listed, so you can compare like with like. When you compare quotes from any provider, check whether the price is fixed or changes with the final graft count, and whether the hospital stay and medicines are inside it. For current packages and what each covers, see our hair transplant cost guide.
What Is the Most Evidence-Based Conclusion?
Known: Gasly is a French Formula 1 driver with a long, well-documented career; his early photos show full, forward-styled hair.
Claimed, not proven: one lifestyle article says he had a transplant, without a source.
Cannot be determined from photos: a technique, a graft count, a provider, a surgeon or a date.
Public photos can document changes in appearance, but they cannot establish anyone's private medical history. If your hairline looks like the one in those early photos and you are noticing early change, the useful lesson is about planning: how recession is graded, which styles hide it and when surgery is worth considering. Our celebrity hair transplant guide covers other public cases, such as Bradley Cooper and David Harbour, and our guide to hairstyles for a receding hairline shows what works while you decide.
Considering Hair Restoration for Your Own Hairline?
Celebrity photos cannot tell you what treatment you need. Your own donor area, hair-loss pattern, age and goals must be assessed individually. The Turkey Hair Center team can review your photos and give you a free, confidential hair analysis, including a donor-area assessment and a clear view of whether surgery, styling or medicine makes more sense for you right now. Operations are carried out by the team at partner hospitals in Istanbul. Get your free hair analysis through our contact page.
Pierre Gasly Hair Transplant FAQs
Did Pierre Gasly get a hair transplant?
There is no public confirmation. Gasly has not said he had one, and no report names a procedure, surgeon or date. A single article, from DMARGE, says his new hairline left "little doubt", but it gives no source, and photos alone cannot prove surgery.
Has Pierre Gasly confirmed a hair transplant?
No. In the material we reviewed, Gasly has not discussed hair surgery, medicine or any other treatment. Anything stated as fact beyond that is the writer's opinion.
When did Pierre Gasly have his hair transplant?
Nobody knows, and it is not established that he had one. DMARGE says only that "it's likely he had it done either before the season ended or immediately after", which is a guess. The article's own dates do not line up, so we do not repeat a month or a year.
Is Pierre Gasly bald or going bald?
The freely licensed photos from 2013, 2018 and 2019 show full hair. DMARGE describes a receding hairline, which we could not check against a photo. Many men with early recession keep a full look through styling for years.
Did Pierre Gasly go to Turkey for a hair transplant?
There is no evidence either way. The DMARGE article says he "likely flew to Turkey", but that is a general remark about where many men go, not a fact about him. Turkey is a major destination for hair transplants, so a guess like this is easy to make and hard to confirm.
How can I tell if a celebrity had a hair transplant?
You usually cannot from photos alone. Look for a statement from the person, dated photos in similar light and angle, and the passage of six to nine months for growth. Without these, treat any claim as unverified.
